Founder/President, Greener Golf

Parker has a passion for golf and has dedicated his career to utilizing golf as a teaching tool for individual growth and positive change in society. Parker is an active PGA and GCSAA member and is grateful for the opportunity to share his knowledge of golf, golf course architecture, agronomy, bees, and sustainability with golfers and non-golfers alike. His sustainable golf consulting business, Greener Golf, focuses on partnering with nature and promoting the positive narrative of golf in society. Many clients, like Goat Hill Park in Oceanside, CA, utilize Greener Golf’s services to get more value from their facilities as well as share and enhance their sustainability narrative with their community.

Parker is a systems designer which includes a variety of specializations; from the developing the routing and design of a golf course, to shaping and constructing a golf course design, to developing and implementing a sustainable and manageable planting plan and landscape design, to creatively optimizing the resource use of a golf course (water, inputs, labor), to enhancing the ecosystem services of a golf course space, to enriching the experience of golfers that interact with his designs.

Previously as a research scientist at the University of Minnesota, Parker facilitated the Science of the Green Initiative, focusing on developing strategies for addressing sustainability challenges facing the golf industry. Parker holds master’s degrees in Landscape Architecture (MLA) and Sustainable Systems (MS) from the University of Michigan. Parker served as director of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association, worked as a PGA professional certified in instruction and golf operations in Palm Desert, the Twin Cities, and Chicago, and competed on various professional golf tours. Parker was a team member in the construction of “The Loop” at Forest Dunes, is an experienced beekeeper and pollinator advocate, teacher, and consultant. He strongly believes golf can be utilized as an effective tool for promoting positive social change.
